GBC Podcast 004 | “So that you may instruct certain men not to teach strange doctrines..” A study of 1 Timothy 1:10 – and beyond

1 Timothy 1:10 is another Scripture some people use to “prove” that homosexual people are supposedly condemned by God. Yet 1 Timothy does say anything remotely like that!

Instead, 1 Timothy talks about false Christian leaders who claim to speak God’s Law, but who have actually missed God’s entire point.

It also offers Gay, Bible-based Christians a hint and hope for just a few of God’s reasons for putting us here as Gay, Bible-based Christians. And we find that those reasons have nothing to do with supporting false ministries or defending bad witness.

Our podcast today talks about:
  • Discerning when church leaders really are appointed and anointed by God
  • Some of the issues that churches even 2,000 years ago faced – and what God’s directions were for dealing with them
  • Why most straight and Gay people aren’t listening to mainstream Christianity anymore
  • Why Gay, Bible-believing Christians can be some of the best witnesses to God’s real Gospel message to those people who aren’t listening any longer
  • Why it doesn’t convert non-Christians when we “defend” or try to “sweeten up” the Bible
  • How and why holding to the whole of Scripture, exactly as God gave it to the world, is the best conversion tool
  • Why keeping the peace may be a church-destroyer
  • How assuming someone is righteous just because they are a shiny church leader is a slap in the face to God’s Gospel
  • Why being despised by the world makes Gay people some of God’s best workers in both the gay and straight communities – when we’ll accept His call
  • and more!
